About us

The Sole Purpose Project is a community-driven initiative focused on collecting and donating shoes to those in need globally. We started by gathering shoes within our school community and are expanding to other schools, community centers, and residential areas. Our goal is to donate these shoes to selected charities and personally distribute them to individuals in need, fostering meaningful connections. More than just a collection effort, we strive to cultivate a culture of giving and compassion, believing that each pair of shoes can make a significant difference in someone’s life.

Meet The Team!

Duc Anh Ngo

Hi, I'm Duc, a 16-year-old, from Vietnam, the founder of The Sole Purpose Project. I am currently a 11th grade student at the German European School Singapore. In my free time, I enjoy playing music and basketball.

Growing up in Vietnam I have witnessed the harsh realities faced by underserved communities, where many people lack basic footwear, often leading to injury and suffering. This inspired me to start The Sole Purpose Project with a few friends, aiming to help our community by collecting and donating shoes to those in need. Together, we strive to create positive change and improve lives one pair of shoes at a time.

Phone Pyae Han

Hi, I’m Chint Chint, a 16-year old from Myanmar. If you know me, you know that I love to swim and that I swim professionally. I helped start this project with a few of my close friends hoping to help the less fortunate community.

I especially know what its like coming from a poor country and can relate to the struggles of the less fortunate. I joined this team to help spread sustainability and awareness for these people and to help out this community. An action as small as donating your old shoes can have a big impact, one man’s trash in another man’s treasure.

Keoni Kyle

Hi, I’m Keo, a 16-year-old from England and Hong Kong with a deep passion for football. This project began as part of my Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) component for the IB, but it has blossomed into something much more meaningful. I’ve discovered a way to combine my love for the sport with my commitment to sustainability and social impact.

I’m part of a dedicated team focused on repurposing old shoes to reduce waste and provide support to those in need. It’s truly inspiring to see how something as small as an old pair of shoes can create a significant difference in someone’s life.

Zaen Castro

Hi, I’m Zaen, a 16-year-old from Argentina with a passion for climbing and a deep love for shoes. Growing up, my brother inspired my interest in footwear, and I immersed myself in collecting and learning about every type of shoe. As I matured, I became aware of the challenges many people face in accessing basic necessities, including footwear.

This realization motivated me to join The Sole Purpose Project, where I focus on repurposing shoes to help those in need. I believe that everyone deserves a chance to walk comfortably, and I’m dedicated to making a difference in my community.

At The Sole Purpose Project, we unite members to support our project helping those in need through partnerships with charities. Together, we can make a difference, one pair at a time.
